jordan was a short but very full trip. i loved every minute of it. that could be based on the fact that i wasn't sick this time. the food was amazing compared to egypt. i ate about 10 pieces of watermelon a day....yep it was amazing.
this pictures aren't really in any order so try to keep up.
this picture was taken on my last day in jordan. i had to keep up the jumping picture tradition. i have to admit i think this might be one of my favorite jumping pictures i've taken. this is part of the ruins from an ancient citadel which stands next to a temple dedicated to herculies. that explains the size.
i was taking strong herculies pictures when brent came over and wanted to join in on the fun. of course i pushed him off the pillar i was standing on and this is the result....
this picture may be a little awkward but it perfectly describs our relationship. he's always trying to pretend he's tough and picks on girls...and i'm always yelling at him to stop being so weird.
yep this is me and brent ;-)
we were given a half a day to visit jerash. jerash is an old roman town in amman. it was cool to see how many of the ruins are still standing and in good condition. this is mandy, bod and me standing on a hill over looking the center road of jerash.

exciting i know!
the best part of the jerash experience was the roman theatre. at first we sat and enjoyed some random jordanian bagpipes and a short explanation of the theatre by our tour guide. after that we were given free time to take pictures and such. considering we are a group of crazy mormons we decided to reeact the lord of the rings fight on the stage with the bagpipes playing in back ground. halfway through our great show another tour group showed up and started taking pictures of us. yes we now provide entertainment for other tourists. i just had to laugh at how stupid we probably all looked. as long as we had fun right!
my good friend patty is doing the jordan arabic study aboard. we got to amman at about 5 one night and were able to meet up. patty is sporting the awesome stache. he passes as arabic all the time. it was so much fun just hanging out with someone from home. patty and his two buddies took us out for jordanian food....actually really good. they took us to some cool lookout places and so we were really able to see amman.
thanks patty for letting me hang out with an arab for the day!
this is my favorite picture of the trip.....this is a candid of bod and i at the shobak castle. don't ask me what we're doing...i have no idea. all i know is that this picture defines bod and i
good thing we're soul mates.
sorry for the fact that i can't edit these pictures. i guess thats what i have to deal with with not having a compture anymore.
anyways this is our boy band cover shot at the shobak castle. our teachers gave us an hour to just run around and go crazy. i guess they figured we wouldn't really listen anyways.
thanks teachers for the oppertunity for an awsome boy band shot!
our first stop in jordan was mount nebo where moses supposedly died.

this is mandy, bod, chap and me posing with the "look and live" stick. not what i thought it would look like but still cool.
our first night in amman we went walking down the street and ran into this fun man. he was so funny and loved talking to us. he kept telling us how rich he was. (truly a great friend to have).
he wanted us to take pictures and after the first one he told us to take one more....this is what happened. good job bod for taking one for the team.
petra day was my favorite.
petra day was my favorite.
we took the long walk through the canyon to the awesome opening to the treasury.
this is a group of us right before we made it to the entrance.
so the jordanians are very proud of their flag.....
so the jordanians are very proud of their flag.....
here you can see a jordan flag randomly on the side of a mountain....
yes they love their flag,
yes i love their flag now too
here are a bunch of us on top of the "end of the world" yes that is what it is called. i think it's supposed to say the 'edge of the world' but the mistake makes it all that much better.
this is us being awkward. what can i say...we were tired with our classic smiling and jumping pictures...awkward is the new jumping picture!
our last day in amman we visited king husseins mosque. the girls were required to wear these awesome black cloaks.

we took some harry potterish pictures but i decided to save those for private viewing....we look a little evil and we all know that a bunch of white girls from byu can't be all that evil
this wonderful picture was taken while i was attempting to play a jordanian instrument. you can't tell in this picture but it sounded awful. kinda like nails on a chalkboard...yep it was that bad. alex would have loved this shop because it had some awesome instruments.
so i went to the end of the world while in jordan....
i'll leave you with this picture. as you can tell i'm not sure if i should be happy to be going to the end of the world or not....
apparently all places are down the path i took.
looks like i'm on my way to all places. i have been waiting for the day that my life would really start and i would be on the right path. here is proof that i walked on the one path to all places and the end of the world.
yay me for making it!
peace and love from jordan
This is EMILY--I miss you every second of every day. I need to breath the same air as you are breathing and stare into your deep, loving, all-knowing eyeballs. When I think of how far away you are, my heart yearns to feel the same Israelian sand beneath my feet. Six weeks can't come soon enough. You are the wind beneath my wings.
ReplyDeleteEmily
P.S. OK seriously. I miss your face. I hope your creep tank is full now.
