med school, med school, med school

med school applications open one week from today

and can you tell the mrs. is just a little excited

its pretty much been the only thing on my mind 

(not a good thing when i've got papers to work on...whoops)

and doesn't spiral binding make everything so much nicer

bring it on med school...here we come!

the last first day

today was my very last first day of school ever (well at least for my undergrad)
i was so excited/scared/sad that i didn't sleep at all last night!

i woke up early and made the mr. take pictures of me

here i am super duper excited for school!

and here is more like how i felt....get classic picture followed by the oh crap my whole college career is ending and i have to write a 30 page paper to prove i learned something.

today i started the end of my college career

but it didn't come without some excitment

i got called in for a job interview

for a great job

with a salary and benefits and 401k

(when did i get old enough to get benefits and a 401k)

so wish me luck tomorrow

my first big time job interview...wow scary thought

and we can't forget the mr.

well we found out today that they kicked him out of school

why? not because of his incredible gpa, or the fact that he worked for them for years

nope, because he didn't take classes in winter (because he was all finished with classes)

so now he has to reapply just to graduate

i know it's pathetic 

anyways thats all from the mr. and mrs.

let's hope interview goes great tomorrow, time for me to practice my charm!

we are blessed

sometimes things just fall into place

and it's those sometimes when you realize you've been given a miracle

and you thank our wonderful heavenly father for watching out for you

and those have been our last 12 hours

we have been so blessed  in just the last few hours

i am so grateful for a loving heavenly father who knows both the mr. and i so well

he is truly watching out for us

we are blessed!

and that is what makes us happy!

(no this post has nothing to do with disney world but this is also something that makes us happy, i felt like including a happy picture...thats all.)

the mr. and mrs. weekend update

this weekend was a blast for the mr. and i

friday night was our date night to texas roadhouse (our new favorite) and some much needed relaxation at home

saturday we were super busy helping family move and mcat studying

but we partied up that night at my old roommates weeding dinner

we met up with megs and matt at the dinner

megs was my roommate and is now married to matt who we love as well

seriously these two are so much fun to hangout with

matt and megs, look how cool my old roommate is! we seriously sat at the table for a couple of hours just chatting and catching up on our busy lives.

i kinda forgot about easter and on my way home from byu graduation i remembered...

it was was first easter married and i wanted to do something fun

and tomorrow is full of helping move and studying and sunday is full of family goodness so...

that left tonight to celebrate!

so i rushed and found two cute baskets and filled them with fun treats

a new tie for the mr.

and some makeup for the mrs. 

now our apartment has some easter fun!

it's fun starting new traditions with just the mr. and i

maybe i'll hide his basket and make him find it ;-)

what we do when we're bored

sometimes at night we get bored

this usually happens after we have both been studying for hours

and that usually means after spence finishes studying and i finish blog hopping.

the other day this was us

bored on our loveseat

so the mr. pulled out the camera

the others turned out okay though!

it's a good thing we can keep ourselves entertained!

finals week

the best kept secret...

finals as a senior are great

my finals week....

writing two papers

due (whenever i get them in)

so to fill my time i'm going to lunch with friends

applying for jobs

watching friends

deep cleaning the apartment 

yea finals week is great

especially when i don't actually have finals

and guess what...

next week i start my last class as an undergrad

yep only one left

i can't wait!!!

graduation...you are so close i can taste it!

the mrs. and her dream job

over two years ago i was desperately searching for a job.

a friend got me an interview at a call center

it paid well and i was over qualified

after my interview they offered me the job

at that point i went into the bathroom and cried

i had the most overwhelming feeling that i wasn't supposed to be where i was

i couldn't take the job

but at that point i didn't have anything else

so i sat in that gross bathroom and prayed that i could find something else

that night i remembered a friend who was a nanny for a family in orem

i decided to call her and see if she knew of a another family, just checking

but to my surprise she couldn't work for the family anymore and told me she would call them

well two years later i have grown to love this family and feel like more of a big sister than a babysitter

yesterday was a special day

this cute family welcomed baby #6 into the family

i loaded up #1,2,3,4,5 and visit #6 and we all headed to the hospital 

i loved looking at these kids who have become my little siblings

the boys who make fun of me for having a "ute" sticker on my car and treat me like a big sister (and i love that)

the sweet girl who has more style than anyone i know and can do her hair better than i can

the little boy who has the best laugh in the world and will keep you entertained for hours

the baby girl, who i watched grow up and now tells me stories of how jesus loves her (this makes my heart melt)

these kids have taught me so much

and even more so are their parents 

who are the perfect examples for spence and i

i never wanted a huge family but this one changes my mind about that! 

well we got to the hospital

all ran inside (it was so cute how excited the kids were)

and met baby boy. 

as soon as baby girl saw baby boy she said "it's prince charming"

yep thats the name she gave him.

it was such a special moment watching the family surround the new baby

and oh my goodness he was adorable!

i even got the chance to hold him.

all cute and chubby checks and dark all

i couldn't get enough of that little guy

i am so thankful for the chance i had to work for this incredible family

they were so kind of letting me into their home and their family

they have truly been such a blessing in my life and i love them all

new baby boy...you've got a great family!

and i can't wait to babysit #6!

(this is me and baby boy, excuse the fact that my face looks huge, but oh my goodness this baby...if that doesn't make someone baby hungry i don't know what does!)

so life lately has been crazy

basically i spend my day not writing papers (like i should) 

and instead visiting family, working out, babysitting, and med school

so i've turned into the crazy med school wife

i seem to worry about it more than my husband 

i've figured out all the ins and outs of the application 

i've found my favorite schools (based on living areas, closeness to the beach, and shopping!)

i've signed the mr. up for way to many volunteer things

and bugged him with small details

i am bound and determined to get spence into the best medical school possible 

so we have weekly sunday night med-school nights

when we research, plan, and talk about all things med school

tonight as he was searching for clinical work i was trying to narrow down our list of schools

using a helpful table we were advised to apply for 2-3 safety schools, 15 mid range schools and 2-3 long shot schools

the table was divided up as 

1. greens: easy to get in

2. blues: a little harder to get in but still good chance

3. red: long shot schools

based on gpa and mcat scores (we used his most recent practice test score)

well mr. smartie pants over here....

didn't have any red schools

basically that means all schools are in his mid-range or safety school

yeah like i said mr. smartie pants

so as of right now i'm feeling good about things

obviously a lot of other things count besides just gpa and mcat but still...feeling pretty great

gotta love the fact that spence was a great student (unlike his wife)

so my mr.

i'm stinkin proud of you

and in 1 year this will all be over and we'll actually know what we're doing with our life

and you will get into the school of your dreams (i'll do whatever it takes)

but please make your dream school one that is close to the beach, with great shopping and nice apartments!

oh and good luck studying...it's almost over!

the mr. and mrs. start working out!

thanks to prevention magazine the mr. and i have a new month workout
it started with just me (due to the working full of cute pink pictures) but the mr. decided to join in on the fun
we started on tuesday, and that went great
now today is day two
i'm excited it's finally warming up
spring is always a time to start working out again
if only it would stop raining so we could run outside
good thing we live close to our parents who have a mini gym

if you want an easy to follow and great feeling workout i suggest prevention magazine. they have a bunch of fun workout ideas!

the mrs. and her girls

today was a beautiful day.

i woke up and got things done at home then headed to home home to spend time with my sick mom

i also started my month of work outs but i'll say more about that one later

my favorite part of the day was driving up to brigham city to have dinner with my besties

i had so much fun with "lo" and "meh"

we chatted about old high school memories

like the one time we were going to have a girls night

but then they both left me alone to be with boys

we chatted about friends, boyfriends, and life

on my drive home i got to thinking of

the last 10 years of friendship.

yeah thats a long time

i met "lo", "meh" and "dru-be" in 7th grade

throughout jr. high, highschool, and college we've seen it all together

even though all three of them ditched me for usu we've stayed close (i've forgiven them for usu)

now i'm a married lady

and dru-b is serving a mission

and meh is student teaching

and lo is designing the world around her

we've grown up but boy am i grateful we've grownup together

these girls have helped me through so much

they've been there in my hardest times and the happiest times

they helped me get ready to get married

and then they helped me get ready to leave the reception

it meant so much to me to have my best friends beside me.

dinner tonight was just what i needed.

sometimes i forget i have such great friends for support

and tonight reminded me how much of a support they are.

i sure love you girls.

girls night crafting

so i'm behind but better late than never

girls night during conference weekend is my favorite

this year i spent girls night with the b. side

after a great meal of pizza at arella we headed home to work on our craft!

this time we made wreaths!

even nanna joined in on the fun. this is us taking over the kitchen with fabric, hot glue and much more.

i loved the red and robins egg blue that allison choose, so stinkin cute

this is mine. it looks a lot better with the ribbon hanging in my apartment but i haven't taken a picture of it yet. i attempted burning the flowers and i loved how it turned out. so easy and so fun!

i choose yellow, blue, and cream so not to be too girly...the first thing spence said

"i think it needs some pink" i know seriously, he wanted pink!

we had so much fun gluing, chatting, laughing, and crafting for girls night. boy do i love girls nights!

the mrs. is a victim....

have you ever been a victim to bad timing? 

i am...right now

have you heard that the government is going to be shut down?

i know seriously that can happen, i was surprised as well

sometimes i wish i could take over congress and just talk some sense into people

but thats not going to happen

back to the bad timing thing....

i'm going to mexico

with the family

in may

and in order to go to mexico i need a passport with my new name

so i sent in a form to get a new one

and i sent that last week (i know i'm a slacker)

but come to find out the passport agency could be shut down

so maybe no passport???

and then we submitted our tax returns

but they got rejected

why?

because apparently my birthday was wrong

but it really wasn't

but thats not what the government thinks

(after an identity theft scare, found out the agency made a mistake) 

so i rushed to the social security office to get my birthday corrected

because who knows what will happen next week

so really this whole government shutting down thing is no fun

but especially because i need government agencies more right now than i ever have

bad timing i know! 

so i'm praying that everything will work out

and that the government really doesn't have to shut down (though my political side would like it too just so i can study the outcome) 

but i really want my tax return

and i really really want to go to mexico

basically i hate bad timing

at least it's friday!

but i couldn't resist 

look at what my afternoon was all about....

 this is what happens when filing is no fun

9 months of documents

the mr. and i are doing our taxes tonight (yeah yeah i know we're pushing the deadline)

so dad is helping us out

and told me all the documents i needed

so i decided it was time to go through all of our documents

this is me...going through everything

good thing i'm good at saving things...for the most part

and now it's all pretty and organized

i think it would be easier to just put the document where it belongs when i get it...go figure

so wish us luck on our taxes tonight...

so much fun!

but at least we're all organized.

the newlywed dream

so moving to a new place is always exciting

especially when you move into a renovated condo

funny how while watching "income property" on hgtv i found that our condo has many flaws

like today i learned it is against fire code to have a light switch any closer than 3 feet from a sink...

whoops maybe two of our two sinks are about 10 inches from a light switch...

anyways this isn't the point, though pretty funny

but the point...

we moved in and struggled with the heating

but worked that out and luckily have a very low gas bill

and then when it started warming up it was the spiders

yes spiders, and i hate hate hate spiders

and killing 3+ a day was a little much

so the mrs. got raid and the spiders cried

now we're only killing about one a week (but those ones are HUGE so really the mr. kills them)

so everything was rosy 

i solved the spider problem (for the most part)

and everything was hunky dory 

until yesterday

when i was cleaning and found ants under my front door rug

but no big deal right...

used some raid and a broom and problem solved

but then this morning

i found more ants

this time by my pantry

i was careful with the raid (considering the location)

and used the vacuum and again problem solved

but then i was cleaning our second room

and moved my backpack only to find ants but this time not just like 10 but like 100

yes i screamed 

and i went through my backpack

and found more ants

apparently these ants came into my back room and found a chewy bar in my backpack they ate through that and attempted to eat through my eyeglass case (yep no lie)

so i got raid happy yet again

threw away half of the things in my backpack

brought out the vacuum and got rid of those little  buggers 

so now i'm struggling to breath due to all the raid in my apartment while watching hgtv and wishing i owned my own home where we didn't have to deal with an old condo with bugs and more bugs

hey only like 7 more years until we can buy our own place ;-) 

but don't worry,

during all of this i couldn't help but smile

because i'm a newlywed 

living a dream in a small old apartment

but it's okay because it's our apartment, the mr. and mrs.

and we love our little place

yep we're living the newlywed dream!

one year ago today

so one year ago today the mr. asked me a question

and of course i said yes!

can't believe it's already been a year

or like the mr says... "can't believe we've been engaged a year"

it was the friday before conference

spence told me he had plans for a date

we ended up in memorial grove.

so today we are celebrating by listening to conference

and then going on a lunch picnic to memorial grove

let's hope the weather stays nice

the pictures aren't the best...thats what happens when you steal them from facebook. and i didn't look the best. the mr didn't warn me of what was coming, i had a cute change of clothes in the car but i didn't get the chance to change...whoops!
