.....With the HARP!!! One of my best friends Gretchen sent me an email with a few pictures from her wedding back in August and included was this one of me playing the harp. Ironically enough I got this email right after I came home from practicing. Most everybody knows but I decided to give more details to this huge part of my life. I have been playing the harp for 6 almost 7 years now. I can't believe it's been this long. Anyways throughout high school my harping (yes that is word) was lagging a little bit. I didn't really practice much but that could be due to the fact I didn't have any free time in high school. Anyways when I came to BYU I found out that I could take harp lessons. I started with just lessons that soon turned into a Harp minor. Since coming here to the Y the harp has become my release. When life gets too crazy, insane, stressful or heartbreaking I turn to the harp. It is so amazing to me how sitting in a quiet harp room, just plucking at the strings, playing whatever music is in front of me, can calm me down. One bad thing... I find sometimes I spend more time practicing then I do on other homework....I need to work on that. Another great thing about the BYU harp program....no cell phone service in the Harp rooms. So it really is a true escape for me! Yay love those!
Right now I am working on 4 pieces, 3 classical pieces and a beautiful arrangment of "I feel my saviors love". So if anybody needs a harpist I'm avaliable ;-)
I know this is a random post but I just felt like sharing one of the many loves of my life! It is that time of year for love anyways ;-)
