the mr. and mrs. go to chicago (part 1)

so i finally decided to get to blogging our little get-a-way to chicago (yep a month later)
the mr. flew out on a thursday to participate in northwestern's second look
it was a good chance for him to see the school again
get to know some fellow students
and basically get excited to go to med school in the city

i flew out the next day to meet him
it was a little hectic making my way from the airport to downtown but i made it
good practice for the future i guess!

after the last session of second look we went apartment hunting
after getting sorely disappointed apartment hunting we needed a rethink
we decided to turn our trip into a fun trip instead of a work trip
(the mrs. was stressing way to much about $$ and super small apartments)
the mr. convinced me that we had time to find a place to live
so we decided to live up our little vaca

and lets just say it was exactly what the dr. ordered (my cute future dr. to be exact)
so day 1 was spent exploring down-town
our future neighborhood (exciting...eek)

we found a fun picture stop. of course i made the mr. pose

i couldn't get over how beautiful the city was
what fun buildings to see and sites to visit
even if the weather wasn't awesome the city was still amazing
next time we'll take a boat ride
gotta love the "self-portrait"...we got pretty great at these over the weekend
beautiful parks and flowers everywhere....i think yes!

loved loved loved millennium park
so beautiful
so peaceful
so where i wanted to be

and of course we couldn't end the night without chicago deep-dish pizza.
add a little a&w and we had the perfect meal

we spent the rest of the night enjoying the city lights, each other, and thoughts of our new home

our first day was just great. a rough start but thanks to my mr. a great end.

part 2 coming up!!!
